Radical Roots Genealogy is a project dedicated to applying the tools of genealogical research to the pursuit of human rights and social justice. Through family history research, I seek to help people increase their understanding of their ancestors’ experiences and in so doing, deepen their empathy for others and increase their own sense of historical connection.
Genealogy Research Can Be A Force for Social Change
All family histories are interwoven with the social and political history of communities and nations. Learning more about our ancestors’ experiences with immigration, war, religious practice and persecution, economic struggles or discrimination, we gain more understanding of people facing similar circumstances today and new insights into current social problems.
